The what?

It is traditional to make an introductory post explaining the purpose of a blog. It is also traditional that traditions change… but I’m not focusing on the latter now :).

BUT WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THE TITLE ?!

I don’t know. I swear I tried coming with other titles and this just kept hovering over my head for days. “Carpathian” means “rocky mountain”, but what the heck is a rocky mountain byte? It isn’t a mispronounced bicycle made of rock, nor it is a piece of rock. What then?

Hah, this is like coming up with an absurd term and then searching for a meaning for it. Well, in the rocky mountains grow the pines, and in the pines, in the pines, where the sun don’t ever shine… woa, I lost track there for a bit. What a coincidence that “pine” is an ancient unix email client. But wait! In the Carpathian mountains lives the lynx, a text-based web browser for linux. There are also a lot of bears there, so bear with me. I’m going to stop writing non-sense now, it feels like having ADHD.

As I said in the About page, this is merely a platform for sharing ideas and trying some experiments on the web. Meaning will arise in time for the name.
